Open Studio 2021
For several years now, I've opened my studio doors in the Fall and welcomed the world to see what shiny things I've created in the past year. This year, the world is a very different place.
People deal with uncertainty in different ways. Like many, I withdrew into screens at first, but I found no real solace in doom-scrolling. To escape these four walls, I took to spending hours upon hours in my backyard. And in that microcosm of nature, with its promise of Spring and renewal, I found my latest inspiration.
In echoing the works of Monet, Chihuly’s ceiling of glass flowers, Craig Mitchell Smith, my friends and mentors Phil and Hazel Teefy, and my father’s abstract landscapes, these past few months have been my most productive in recent memory. Welcome to Glass Garden Growing.
In these uncertain times, I realize that I need to be flexible to the needs and comfort of any visitors to my studio.
